Apartment FG
Apartment remodeling
Apartment FG is a warm but minimalist apartment space in Oslo, set within a 1930s building. Following partial renovations, it underwent a comprehensive redesign of layout and interior. The client’s main goal was to maximize natural light from both sides, leading to an open-plan design that lets light flow from east to west. Despite the open layout, custom furniture was crafted to establish defined zones and maintain clear sightlines. Two large pivot doors separate private and communal areas, adding flexibility to the spatial use and atmosphere.
The material palette emphasizes soft minimalism with tactile, authentic materials. The walls feature mineral render, the floors are ash wood by Dinesen, and the custom furniture is crafted from ash. Travertine stone is used for the kitchen island, bathroom furniture, and surfaces. All elements, from furniture to kitchen and bathroom, were designed by Skapa and provided by Hamran.
